About Brown Basmati Rice
Basmati rice is found as white and brown versions. To produce brown rice,the husk(most outer layer) is removed to expose the bran.This layer of bran gives the brown basmati rice a sort of chewy and thick texture. Both types are full of nutrition and fibre however, brown basmati rice has more fibre and vitamins but it takes longer to digest than white variety.
Brown basmati rice was originally cultivated and grown in India and Pakistan. Basmati comes from the hindi word “fragrant” and it does have all the flavour and aroma it also compliments the taste palates with a subtle nutty and floral taste.
Brown basmati rice is a great complimentary dish to your favourite curries, salads and lentils making your meals healthier and having more nutrients and fibre.
